Abstract

Purpose: This research is to approach a clinical instruction collaborating a college with a clinical education hospital for strengthening clinical competence of nursing student. Methods: The data was collected from deep interviews in 12 nursing students in a college and 6 nurses in a clinical education hospital. Analyzing the interview contents, the collected data was categorized. Results: The core categories in the perspective of students for facilitating clinical learning were student
competence, nurse competence, and student-nurse interaction. The four main categories were confidence and self reflection in the student confidence, appreciation in the nurse competence, and relationship in the student-nurse interaction. Supporting role for nursing student on clinical learning facilitation was categorized into six roles. From the main categories of confidence, self reflection, appreciation and relationship obtained in clinical learning facilitation and faculty
supporting role in nursing student clinical leaning facilitation, the collaborative model was developed. Conclusion: The developed model should be applied selectively and the validity of the collaborative model is also needed.
